Asheville Vocal Ensemble is available for weddings and vow renewals, memorials, parties, and just about any other event you can come up with!

Whether providing music for an intimate ceremony on top of Mount Mitchell, greeting guests as they enter your venue, or providing a backdrop for a holiday cocktail hour, vocal a cappella music is a special addition to any celebration.

Best of all — no electricity required! We can sing (and probably have sung) just about anywhere you can fit a group of eight people.

Singing everything from traditional carols to modern choral settings, a festive group of a cappella singers will make your event the talk of the season.

Memorials and Funerals

AVE offers music for times of remembrance and contemplation.

Music can be a window to the past, a meditative offering, or a sweet reminder of those we love. AVE is proud to offer musical services to those looking for moments of introspection and peace.

Classical music as well as pop and jazz styles are in the repertoire for any event you may have planned.

Lessons and Carols

Nine Lessons and Carols, also known as the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols and Service of Nine Lessons and Carols, tells the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus in nine short Bible readings or lessons from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir anthems.

Asheville Vocal Ensemble offers a variety of a cappella choral settings that fit with the themes of these nine readings and include the leading of traditional hymn settings as part of this service.

Special Services

Regularly scheduled for Palm Sunday and Good Friday services, AVE offers music planning and performance for any sacred service throughout the year.

Please note that our singers are active members of music teams at a number of churches throughout the WNC area and are not generally available to provide music during regular morning Sunday Service hours.

Liturgical Services

We are available for sacred services throughout the region, whether for the Advent or Lenten seasons,
or other times in the church year.

Evensong

Since its inception, the Asheville Vocal Ensemble has offered the service of Evensong at many Episcopal parishes in the Western North Carolina diocese.

Evensong, like all forms of liturgical worship, has elements of drama and ritual that nourish the spiritual life of the congregants. It is scripted according to a long history, originating in early Christian and perhaps Judaic evening worship. Evensong is traditionally mostly sung by a choir, with the full congregation participating in the intoning of the Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and hymns.
